Permissions

What the app asks your phone for, why it needs each one, and how to change your mind.

Nothing is requested when you first sign in. Each permission is asked for the first time you use the feature that needs it, and refusing one only affects that feature.

PermissionNeeded for
MicrophoneVoice calls with an agent, and voice notes
CameraVideo in meetings, and photos taken for a chat or a post
PhotosYour avatar, and images attached to chats and posts
NotificationsSession updates, signal alerts and approvals
Local networkBetter call quality when you are on the same network as the service
ContactsInviting people to a meeting

You can change any of them later in your phone's settings for Auron. If you refuse the microphone, calls and voice notes will keep asking, since neither can work without it.

Calls and the operating system

A call is registered with your phone as a real call. That means it keeps running when the screen locks or you switch to another app, it appears in your phone's own call interface, and you can hang up from the lock screen.

On Android an ongoing-call notification stays up for the length of the call. On iPhone the call appears in the system call UI. Either way, ending it there ends it in Auron.
