Where the app runs, what you need before you sign in, and what it needs from your phone.

Auron runs on iPhone and on Android phones. The two builds have the same screens and the same features. Small differences in how the operating system handles calls and notifications are noted where they matter.

The app is distributed by whoever administers Auron for your organization rather than as a public app store listing, so ask them for an install link if you do not have one.

Before you sign in

You need two things:

  • The address of your Auron deployment, for example dev.useauron.ai. This is the domain field on the sign in screen.
  • An email and password for that deployment, or an invitation to an organization on it.

If you have been invited but never set a password, use Forgot password on the sign in screen to set one.

What the app asks your phone for

Nothing is requested up front. The app asks for the microphone the first time you start a call or a recording, for photos the first time you attach one, and for notifications the first time it has something to tell you. Refusing one only affects that feature. The full list, and how to change your mind later, is in Permissions.

Calls keep running when the screen locks or you move to another app, and they show up in your phone's own call interface so you can hang up from the lock screen.

Which phone should you use it on

Voice calls run over the network, so a call is as good as the connection. On a weak connection the transcript lags behind the conversation and catches up. Voice notes do not need a connection at all, which makes them the safer choice when you have no signal. See Staying in sync and working offline.
