Signing in and organizations

Accounts, single sign-on, invitations, creating an organization, and switching between them.

Signing in

The console signs you in with an email and password, or through your organization's single sign-on if one is configured. Where single sign-on is in use, you are handed to your identity provider and returned to Auron once it has confirmed who you are, and your password is managed there rather than here.

New accounts verify their email address before they can be used. If the verification email goes missing, the app can send another.

Forgotten passwords are reset by email. The link takes you to a page where you set the new one.

Some deployments run a waitlist rather than open sign-up. On those, a new account is registered and then approved before it can sign in.

Organizations

An organization is a workspace. Everything in the console belongs to exactly one, and the switcher at the top of the sidebar moves you between the ones you are a member of.

Creating one gives it a name and a slug. The slug is the part that appears in the address, so it has to be unique and the form checks it as you type.

Being invited to one arrives as an email invitation. Accepting it adds the organization to your switcher. Invitations can also be accepted from the mobile app, and either way they show up in both.

The person who creates an organization is its owner. Ownership can be transferred later in General settings.

Your role

Your role is set per organization, so being an owner in one says nothing about the next. It decides what appears in the sidebar and which screens are editable. See Access.

Your own account

Your name, your avatar and your password are yours rather than the organization's, and live in account settings alongside the developer settings.
