Users and teams

Inviting people, setting roles, removing members, and grouping them into teams.

Members

The members list holds everyone in the organization with their role. From here you can:

  • Invite someone by email. Pending invitations are listed until they are accepted, and can be revoked.
  • Change someone's role.
  • Remove someone from the organization.

An invitation can be accepted in the console or on the phone; either way it shows up in both.

Roles

RoleWhat it can do
OwnerEverything, including transferring ownership and deleting the organization
AdminEverything operational: configuration, administration, reports
UserUse agents, run sessions, post to the feed. Configuration screens are read-only
GuestRead the organization and its conversations

There is exactly one owner. See Access for how access to individual records is granted on top of a role.

Teams

Teams group members so things can be attached to a group rather than to people one at a time. A team has a name and an avatar, and members are added and removed from it.

Teams matter because several things are attached to them:

  • Agents, so a team's people can use them.
  • Skills.
  • Knowledge stores.
  • Access to entity records.

Setting up teams to mirror how your organization actually splits up work is what keeps the access screens manageable as the number of records grows.
